PHILOSOPHY

As a piano teacher, I seek to stretch and enhance my students through effective music teaching, deliberate goal-setting, and meaningful interactions. My students develop a personal passion for music and understand that they have a unique combination of talents and background experiences that influence their music learning in distinctive ways.

 

I focus on Classical music, theory, sight reading, and ear training. These four pillars of music ensure that my students receive a well-rounded musical education, preparing them to take on any musical opportunities that come their way. I find joy in helping my students develop new skills, discover new repertoire, and establish lasting musical meaning at the piano.

With my Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and as a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM), I am prepared to give the highest quality of music education to my students. My students' enthusiasm for the piano is heightened by my core belief that music can truly change lives. My students learn how to create their own musical voice through structured teaching, exposure to the music and opportunities around them, and a constantly developing love for music and creativity.
